The data and contact information you enter are stored in an encrypted form on the servers of FHNW. FHNW uses Switch as the provider of computing resources for running the FHNW servers. FHNW has implemented the required technical and organisational security measures to ensure the security of users’ personal data and prevent their alteration, loss, unauthorised processing or access according to state of the art, the nature of the data stored and the risks to which they are exposed, whether due to human action or physical or natural media, according to the provisions in the regulations in force. All other data we collect is stored as a cookie on your device. For more information about cookies: see below. **Purpose** We will not use your personal data for other purposes than those stated in this privacy policy or for the purpose specifically indicated when we collect it. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. The information we collect from you will be used in one of the following ways: \- To deliver you the website and content \- To track the attractiveness of our campaigns, website, and content and to improve them (we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on what we observe is useful and feedback we receive from you) \- To personalise your experience (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs by filtering threat information to your chosen country and industry) \- To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature \- To improve our service (your information helps us to respond to your support requests effectively) \- To communicate with you, e.g. with periodic e-mails with information about cybersecurity and the GEIGER project and about recent events on the community platform. **Recipients** The contact information will solely and exclusively be used by GEIGER. FHNW will use it to answer user queries. The GEIGER consortium member TECH.EU will use it to keep subscriber up to date on the news and services provided by GEIGER if the user grants their express authorisation for the latter purpose. All other information will be used by FHNW and TECH.EU for the purposes stated above. There could be forms on our website that collect users’ data for specific purposes. In these cases, this will be subject to specific terms and conditions in each case. **Legitimisation** We use the term “General Data Protection Regulation” or the term “GDPR” to refer specifically to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC. **Rights** Users may exercise their right of access to their personal data and request rectification of any incorrect data or, if need be, request the deletion when the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were obtained. They may also request restriction, portability and objection to their data being processed under certain circumstances and for reasons related to their particular situation. They are also entitled to withdraw their consent at any time without this retroactively affecting the personal data processing carried out up to such time. The personal data that users provide to GEIGER must be current data so that the information in the records is up-to-date and error-free. Users will be held liable for the data provided being true. **Under what conditions do we collect data?** By ticking the box on the relevant webpage and submitting your personal data to us, you will be treated as having given your permission to process your personal data as set out in this privacy policy. Personal data will not be disclosed to other third parties unless there is a legal obligation to do so. If there is any intention to disclose them, the authorisation of the data subjects will be obtained beforehand. **How long will we keep your personal data?** The personal data will be kept while the purpose lasts for which they were provided.
